Quick read or a deep dive?

If you have read my newest stories in the Taken While Hubby Watches series, you will find that the stories are pretty short, just over 17,000 words for the longest one.

This was intentional as I hope to later expand one or all of the stories into a longer work, perhaps a series or a short novel.

My question is do you, as a reader of cuckold fiction, prefer a shorter story like the ones presented here, or longer works like The Game, which is over 35,000 words?

I personally love shorter reads, but sometimes I want to do a deep dive and really get to know the characters and see their motivations for the lifestyle they choose. Many authors I have found have a tough time either not creating depth in their characters and getting right into the action or going so far into the angst and thoughts that they take forever to get to the sex. For me, it is a balancing act between the two as I continue to create stories I want to read.

Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

I loved “The Game”, so longer stories. Mostly don’t bother with anything less than 40 pages. It is virtually impossible to develop any character depth in under 40 pages. Having said that I am sure there are readers that enjoy the quick wham bam, thank you maam stories..

Thanks for your reply! I agree. I am currently working on a longer book, it promises to be longer than The Game, so your feedback helps. I’ll be posting updates on the new book soon.
